Sunday school began in 1968 under the leadership of Lt. Tongpangyula, a government teacher who tirelessly served as a Sunday school teacher for 10 years. In 1978, Mr. Imotemjen and Mrs. Akanglemla were selected as Sunday school teachers, starting with beginner and senior classes. In 1980, as directed by ABAM, 11 boys and 15 girls took their first Sunday school exam. In 1982, the role of Superintendent, heading the Christian Education department, was later changed to Christian Education Director. In 2001, after the installation of a full-time staff, the name was changed to the Christian Education Department. Through the revision of guidelines in 2015, the name was changed to Christian Education Ministry, which remains in use to this day.
Recognizing the gifts and talents among children, Lt. Akangmeren Imchen, Deacon, and Lt. Imkongchizük Jamir, Deacon, along with Mrs. Temjenwala, a teacher, started the first child service on February 12, 1989. On that day, there were 58 children in attendance.
The Christian Education Ministry is headed by the Associate Pastor of Christian Education, with 15 Sunday school teachers and 4 child teachers.
